Valentine’s Day is upon us!
While for some of us this can mean another day of adoration, being reassured by our man that we are loved, possibly some flowers and a romantic candlelight dinner… for some others, this day can be a painful reminder of what we “lack” in our life.
And today I want to speak to both sets of women.
To The Happily In Love Ones:
Woohoo! Yet another day of celebrating love. Yes, yet another.
Because if you are truly in love, the gift, the card, the flowers are nothing but a symbol of the love that you experience each and every day anyway. Exactly how it should be!
It is my earnest wish for you this Valentine’s Day that, amid all the hype and expectations of how a perfect V-Day should look, you can find some personal time off with your loved one to slow down and truly connect with one another.
That you both appreciate each other for the things that matter most – time, personal presence, your support and commitment to each other.
I know that you have probably heard this “be present and appreciate what matters” advice many times before but let me tell you, it is not that easy on a day like this where you are just subconsciously loaded with expectations.
I remember this one time when my husband got home early from work for V-Day and cooked me a nice dinner. However, all I could feel was grumpy and tense about not getting any flowers or presents from him. And I felt bad and “less than” in that precious moment, instead of feeling appreciation and enjoying what he “did do” for me.
So how about you allow yourself to be surprised in the moment, instead of having a specific expectation on how an “ideal” V day should look for you?
You allow him to express his love to you in his own unique way, even if it looks no where close to how you had imagined it would be like?
And with all those expectations dissolved (easier said than done, I know!), you will be truly open to what is … than what it “should” be like … Feels liberating doesn’t it?
I hope you feel, on this day of love, down to the bottom of your toes – how loved you are and what a blessing you live in.
To My Fantastic Single Ladies:
The Happily In Love With Themselves Ones!
Woohoo! Yet another day of celebrating your love for yourself. Yes!
I know how hard and lonely it can feel to be single on such a day.
Even if YOU are loving it, the world tries to make you feel bad about your current relationship status.
The advertisements, the hype on social media about V-Day – it feels like everyone is making an effort to constantly remind you of what you don’t have and somehow ensure that you feel down about it.
So the advice for you is simple – Don’t let it get you down. Don’t let it get to you.
You go on your self-love ride, anyway. Because Valentine’s day is a day to celebrate love and self-love is the greatest of them all! Yes, I just said that!
So take care of yourself, today of all days!
Book yourself a spa, a massage, a manicure and pedicure, or go buy yourself a nice cup of coffee and a book you recently wanted to read, or put on a nice dress and go eat your favourite food OR stay home, get cozy in pyjamas and order some yum food and watch a flick that makes you feel good!
Yes. You are important. And having or not having a partner does not define that. The point is to feel good.
Because when we feel good and when we love ourselves, sooner or later, everything else external starts to fall in place including / attracting our forever man into our lives.
So all you dear ladies. Celebrate love. Celebrate yourself.
Happy Valentine’s Day!
PS: I truly, whole-heartily believe in the power of the tools I teach in my programs, which have already brought about 90+ engagements and countless saved relationships and marriages. If you’re feeling icky today, this is your sign to celebrate love by investing in yourself.
