If you've ever wondered why some women attract men who pursue them relentlessly while others find themselves constantly fighting for attention, the answer isn't about looks, money, or status. It's about whether you're a healed woman or an unhealed woman.

As a dating and relationship coach specializing in helping high-achieving women for the last decade, I've worked with thousands of smart, successful women who were unknowingly sabotaging their own relationships. The difference between women who attract passionate, devoted partnerships and those who struggle, is inner work. It's emotional healing. It's understanding the gap between healed and unhealed.

If you're asking yourself, “Why does he ignore me?” or “How do I make a man chase me again?”, the answer lies in this article. Read on , to understand what separates these two types of women and how you can become the healed woman who naturally attracts healthy love.

Who exactly is a healed woman?

Healing is a journey, not a destination. When I talk about a healed woman, I need to be clear about something: she is not perfect. Healing is not a destination where you arrive and suddenly everything is sorted out. Healing is an ongoing journey.

A healed woman is someone who has done her inner work. Inner work means the work of self-awareness. It's understanding what your values are, what your triggers are, and what wounds you've been carrying since childhood that impact how you show up in your dating life and your relationships with men.

A healed woman understands herself. She recognizes that while she has emotions and feelings, not all of her feelings reflect the truth. Sometimes her feelings are self-created. Sometimes they're triggered by old patterns. She has the capacity to question herself with curiosity rather than judgment. She can pause and ask, “Is this feeling telling me something real, or is this an old wound showing up?”

Most importantly, the bottom line of all healing is self-love and self-compassion. As a healed woman continues to become more aware, she remains loving and kind to herself throughout that process.

High achieving women often resist investment in their love lives

Here's something I notice repeatedly: high-achieving, successful women will invest in designer handbags, luxury experiences, and the finest things, but when it comes to investing in their relationship skills and inner work, they hesitate. They think, “Relationship coaching is too expensive and intangible. I'll just figure this out on my own.”

But here's the truth: there is nothing more powerful than understanding who you are, what you stand for, what your triggers are, and how to work with them. This knowledge is the actual formula for attracting and keeping a relationship that exceeds your dreams.

An unhealed woman might think being high value means having the right exterior. A healed woman knows that true high value comes from deep self-knowledge and self-love.

This is why my relationship coaching for women programs are so powerful. They give you all the scripts, all the strategies, methodologies, and mindsets that you need to adopt and display if you desire to attract a healthy masculine man and keep him in your life. You can find hundreds of success stories from my clients:

Inside my coaching program Elevate, we have a rule: Paragraphs are a red alert. When we work with clients, we reduce lengthy explanations into two crisp sentences that make the point and communicate what the woman wants to communicate in a high-value way.

The key insight is this: Your emotional transparency as a woman doesn't help a man do better. It actually often makes him lazy. There are much smarter ways to make a man wake up. Creating tension, creating gaps, and allowing him to step into his masculine role and rise up for you with action are the approaches that actually work.

Recognizing an unhealed woman

An unhealed woman is, quite simply, a woman who hasn't done her inner work. She hasn't developed self-awareness about her patterns, triggers, and the wounds that influence her behavior in relationships.

When something disappoints her, she over-expresses her feelings, believes this is honesty and transparency. She thinks this is what an empowered woman looks like.

Let's say a man doesn't text her for 48 hours, or he flirts with another woman in front of her, he misses an important moment. A unhealed woman's responds by calling him out immediately. She'll say something like: “Hey, you haven't texted me for the last 48 hours and this is not cool. When you don't text me, I don't know where you are and it leaves me feeling anxious and I don't want to feel anxious. I'm not angry with you, I just want to make sure that you can do better next time.”

What she's done is send him a paragraph of her deepest feelings. And how does he respond? With confusion and distance. He thinks, “Whoa, whoa, slow down.” Her intensity pushes him away rather than drawing him closer.

The false belief about speaking your truth

If this describes you, please be kind to yourself. Remember that all healing comes from offering grace and compassion to yourself. Your behavior isn't your fault, it's likely because you've bought into a belief that's spread by many dating coaches: that it is strong to share your truth, and that you must always speak up.

The reality is different. When you have emotional intelligence and relational intelligence, you understand that you must not always speak up. You must have the wisdom to choose your battles. You must understand where you are in the dating process with this person. Will he receive your message as something valuable? Or will he interpret it as neediness and over-attachment?

This is where so much generic relationship advice fails. Many coaches give the same message to everyone without considering the context and nuance of each individual situation.

The critical differences

Early Dating: What a healed woman does differently

Let's look at a specific example. You're on dates one through six with a man. He hasn't texted you for 48 hours. A healed woman doesn't react.

Because in early dating, he doesn't owe you consistency in communication or texting. If she feels insecurity or anxiety about his silence, that's for her to manage internally. It's not his job to regulate her emotions. Her responsibility is to lean back and observe if this man step up and be the man she wants him to be.

Early dating is far too early to be asking a man why he hasn't texted you, or telling him, “When you don't text me, I get anxious.” That is not how a high-value, healed woman shows up.

A high-value, healed woman understands that in early dating, a man owes her very little except one thing: consistency in seeing her weekly. If he's not doing that, her job isn't to scold him or write paragraphs. Her job is to shift her focus to a man who is behaving the way she wants him to behave.

Women overshare and it backfires. It's not women's fault that we over-speak and over-share. We've been taught that all this emotional expression is empowerment. But in reality, it works against you in the dating process. Your over-sharing reveals your level of attachment to the man. It shows him that he impacts you deeply and emotionally.

That level of vulnerability and attachment might be appropriate inside a committed relationship, but in dating, it signals desperation.

Think about it this way: the difference between dating and being in a relationship is that in a relationship, the container of commitment is already established. You have far more flexibility and appropriateness in sharing your feelings when you're already committed to each other.

Drawing boundaries vs emotional dumping is an important distinction. A healed woman absolutely must share her feelings with her partner in a committed relationship. But even then, she's strategic about it.

The healed woman's approach

Sometimes silence is more powerful than words. There are so many nuanced ways to be treated better by a man, and the answer is not always full emotional revelation or sharing your feelings. It really depends on where you are in the dating process, on whether you're dating casually, in early commitment, or deeply committed.

Whether  you are with your husband, or with your boyfriend of years, even in the safety of that commitment, there are specific phrases, words, and energy that men respond to, and there are phrases and words that men don't respond well to at all. Sometimes more silence is needed to wake up a man and get him to treat you better. Other times, a loving boundary works. But here's what's important: a loving boundary doesn't always have to mean revealing all your feelings. You don't have to say, “When you don't show up on time, I feel neglected, ignored, devalued, and not special. You really need to make sure you show up on time.”

Instead, saying “I really appreciate it when people show up on time” makes a whole lot of difference to how men receive it. That's it. The message is clear. Your boundary is established. And you haven't dumped your emotional state on him.

Investing in understanding yourself

The best thing you can do for yourself  is invest in your inner work. Stop treating relationships as something you'll just figure out on the way. They can get too costly emotionally.
One of the smartest decisions I made at 25 was when I decided I'm not leaving my love life and my relational skills with men to chance. I'm going to learn this. And I did learn it. I attracted an incredible husband who adores me. We've been married for 12 years, have two beautiful children, and I've since helped thousands of women do the same.

My invitation to you is to stop winging it. Start becoming the healed woman. You don't have to be perfect, but you have to be willing to invest your time, energy, and resources in this direction. Think of it like a university degree. The returns on that investment will serve you for the rest of your life.

Self awareness and emotional regulation

Understanding your triggers and patterns goes a long way. When you know how to show up in your relationships, when you become aware of your emotional triggers, when you recognize your weaknesses and areas of growth in how you relate to men, everything changes. That awareness, whether it's about self-confidence, boundaries, your intimacy fears, or your triggers is what prevents patterns from repeating. If you don't do this work, the patterns will just continue. The same type of man will show up. The same conflicts will emerge. The same disconnection will happen. You'll continue to project your emotions onto the man. You'll make him wrong. You'll believe that emotional transparency will help him do better. But it won't. What actually helps a man step up is your ability to manage your own internal state first, then communicate from that grounded place.

This is why inner work for love and relationships is so critical. It's not about perfection. It's about being willing to take the first step and begin the journey of understanding yourself more deeply.

Transforming From unhealed to healed

The gap between an unhealed woman and a healed woman isn't something you're born with. It's something you develop through intentional work. And the work is absolutely worth it because the results transform your entire life.

A healed, awakened woman loves herself. She understands herself. She knows how to talk to men. She has the emotional maturity to work with her triggers so she can still show up and communicate in a way that men actually listen to and respond to. Men feel the calling to treat her like a queen.

When you become this woman, men pursue you. They provide for you. They prioritize your happiness. The relationship becomes about him trying to keep your love—not the other way around.

Here's what I know after working with thousands of women, if you focus on becoming a healed woman, your results will follow. My clients attract their dream partners within a year of working with me. Couples heal marriages that were on the brink of divorce within two rounds of my program. We're talking about deeply healed, transformed relationships.

This is real, sacred, valuable work. And it all starts with one decision: I'm going to stop winging my love life. I'm going to understand myself. I'm going to do my inner work.

You were made for love, not struggle

The distinction between a healed woman and an unhealed woman comes down to this: One operates from awareness, self-compassion, and strategic choice. The other operates from reactivity, emotional dumps, and hope that over-sharing will fix things.

The healed woman understands that her job isn't to convince a man to love her or teach him how to treat her. Her job is to know her worth, regulate her emotions, observe his actions, and make conscious choices about whether he's the right man for her.

The unhealed woman chases, explains, and tries to manage his feelings.

The healed woman attracts, receives, and leads with her presence.

If you're ready to become the healed woman who attracts the love you deserve, the first step is making a commitment to yourself. Commit to understanding your values, your triggers, and your patterns, to self-awareness and self-compassion and to doing the inner work that will transform not just your relationships, but your entire life.

You don't have to be perfect. You just have to be willing to begin.

If you need support with these relationship communication skills, Elevate is the program you need to be in. It teaches you exactly how to navigate these situations with grace and power.
