Hi! This is Sami!
Today’s awesome question comes from Alina.
Alina says: “Hi Sami. I met this great guy last week and I really like him! Yay! Today I got a huge promotion at my job and felt a compelling urge to text him first and let him know about it. But before that I stopped and decided to ask you. Should I or should I not text him first? Thanks!! From a very excited Alina. “
Alina, congratulations first and foremost and well done with asking first before acting!
It’s a great question Alina and the answer is yes and no. Should we ever first text a man first?
YES – If he’s married to you, he’s your husband, the energy and the relationship is great. Also yes, if he’s your boyfriend and you’re in a committed, exclusive relationship. Then absolutely, Alina! It’s your great moment, it’s your shiny moment. Share it with him.
NO – If you are dating and not in an exclusive relationship.
It is only when we like men that we start getting into this masculine energy mode, this manipulative mode where we wonder how to get the man’s attention.
What can we do to get closer to him? What can we do so that he gets interested in us?
This is in contrast to the times when we don’t like a guy and where we couldn’t care less and naturally stay in our feminine energy. The guy keeps texting and calling and doing all the right things.
So Alina, at this juncture, when you really like a man, you don’t want to get into your masculine mode. This energy is is going to push a good masculine man away. So call your mom, call your girlfriends, call your guy friends, call your grandma and give them the good news, but wait till this man texts you or calls you and then break the good news to him.
Never, ever, ever, going forward Alina, text a man first when you’re just dating him. I hope that helps and keep me posted with your updates.
